Welcome to MyHyundai. Whether you’re looking to build your future Hyundai vehicle, get connected with Blue Link® or want to get to know all of the features and services in your vehicle, MyHyundai is your place to join, research, browse and learn. Aug 15, 2017 This video shows how to do a map and software update for your embedded navigation system on your Hyundai or Kia vehicle (US/Canada).
The 2017 Ioniq and all 2018 and newer Hyundai models that are equipped with a navigation system come with three years of complimentary multimedia and navigation updates. Map updates for these models are scheduled every Spring and Fall. When a new update becomes available, you can use one of the following three options to get new information in your Hyundai:
- - Download & Install with an SD card
- - Order an updated SD card
- - During a regularly scheduled maintenance appointment
OPTION 1: Download and Install
With this process, you download the updated information directly and upload it to the SD card that carries the current information in your vehicle. This requires you to have a PC with an SD card or an SD card adapter. Your owner’s manual will inform you on where to find the SD card in your model.
STEP #1: Go to https://www.mapnsoft.com/hyundai/mapcare and sign in to your account or create a new account.
Account Creation
If you have an account, enter your login credentials and click on “SIGN IN”. If you do not have an account, click on “CREATE AN ACCOUNT”.
For new account creation, fill in the required fields and then click “CREATE AN ACCOUNT” to complete account creation. Once successful, you will return to the home page where you can now log in.
Placing an Order
Once you sign in, a pop-up will appear. Enter the VIN of the vehicle you wish to have the map data updated and then click “SUBMIT”. Your vehicle will then appear on the dashboard.
Ordering the download:
Under Media, select the +FREE option “Download map software…”
Next, enter your Device ID. To learn how to retrieve it, click on “How to find your Device ID”.
The SET UP button shown in Step 1, may be in a different location on your model. Record the Device ID from your car, enter it into the option selection page, and click on “PROCEED”.
You will then see a page confirming your order number, beginning with “MCHU”. Write this number down, or take a screen shot of this page. You will need to reference this order number later to complete the download process. Then, click on “DOWNLOAD”.
Installing the Map Downloader Tool
The Map Downloader tool will pop up. Enter your order number (starts with MCHU).
A User Profile page will appear with your Hyundai model name and year. After confirming this is correct, click on “START DOWNLOAD” to begin downloading software onto your PC.
Download will begin. Download time depends on internet speed.
Once download is complete, insert your vehicle SD card in the SD card slot of your PC, then select drive from the menu provided.
When prompted, select “YES” to format the drive. The new software will then upload to the SD card.
When prompted, click “OK” once the software upload is complete.
Once download is complete, you have to authenticate the transaction. Click “Get Authentication code” to authenticate the file.
The authentication code will be applied automatically. Click “NEXT” to complete the transaction.
Click “Map update Manual (PDF) Download” to get the instructions on how to install the software in your specific model.
Note: Manual may differ in appearance than shown above
OPTION 2: Purchase SD card with map update
This option saves you the time of downloading the information yourself and may be necessary if you don’t have a PC with an SD card slot, an SD card reader adapter, or up to 20 GB in available memory. The map update download is complimentary, but there is a $25 charge for the SD card and a shipping charge.
To start, go to https://www.mapnsoft.com/hyundai/mapcare
Account Creation
If you have an account, enter your login credentials and click on “SIGN IN”. If you do not have an account, click on “CREATE AN ACCOUNT”.
For new account creation, fill in the required fields and then click “CREATE AN ACCOUNT” to complete account creation. Once successful, you will return to the home page where you can now sign in.
Adding a Vehicle and Placing an Order
Enter your vehicle’s VIN and then click “SUBMIT”. Your vehicle will then appear on the dashboard.
Hyundai Tucson Software Update Download
Under Media, select “Order SD card through mail…” and click PROCEED.
Enter your shipping and billing information to complete checkout.
When the SD card arrives in the mail, remove the current SD card located in the vehicle SD card slot (check your model’s owner’s manual for location) and exchange it with the new one.
OPTION 3: During regularly scheduled maintenance
At your next Hyundai retailer maintenance visit, request that your Service Advisor update your vehicle with the latest map update. This is certainly the most convenient of the three options, as it saves you the time of downloading, setting up new accounts, or transferring to SD cards.
Though there will be no cost for the updated map information during the three year complimentary period, there will be additional charges for labor at the dealership.
To ensure that the dealer will be ready with the map update for your vehicle, please make the map update request when you schedule your maintenance appointment.
FAQ's:
How long are my map updates free?
The complimentary MapCare lasts for three years from the date of purchase. After three years, you can continue to purchase map updates up to twice a year.
Where do I find my order number?
Your order number is available in http://www.mapnsoft.com/hyundai/mapcare in the “Dashboard” section of the website, which is accessible by clicking on “My Account” at the top of the page when you are logged in. Select “My orders” on the left to retrieve your order number.
How big is the download file and how long will it take?
The file is approximately 12-18 GB and may take roughly 3 hours to download and copy to the SD card. Download time varies based on your network speed.
I have completed downloading the file, but it will not let me copy to the SD Card.
Make sure that the original SD card from your vehicle is installed and readable on your computer. Ensure that the SD card is not locked (slider on the SD card).
Why does copying the file take so long?
The file copying process from your PC to the SD card requires the files to be uncompressed and copied to the map SD Card, which could take up to 3 hours to complete.
I cannot download the file. What are my other options to get my update?
The option to order and have the software update shipped to your address is available. Please place an order for the SD card through this MnSoft site. You can also have the dealership install the update for you during your next scheduled service.
Does the download continue if my computer goes to sleep/locks?

Please keep computer downloading the file from going to sleep or locking. Downloading can stop when the computer goes to sleep or locks.
Note: Please remember that any personal data entered into your vehicle’s audio or navigation system could be stored by the system. This may include mobile phone contacts and call logs, images, as well as your navigation system address book, Points of Interest, and previous destinations. Additionally, your vehicle’s HomeLink® garage door opener may be linked to your garage door. Hyundai recommends that you delete your personal data from the audio or navigation system when you sell your vehicle or after using a vehicle that is not your own. Consult your glovebox materials and our online resources for complete instructions on deleting your data from vehicles.

CarPlay delivers an instantly recognizable experience to iPhone users that will help them be instantly familiar and comfortable inside their Hyundai. CarPlay support lets drivers make calls, get directions optimized for traffic conditions, listen to music and access messages. With CarPlay, Siri provides drivers an eyes-free experience by responding to requests through voice commands that are easily and directly accessed through the steering wheel’s voice button. Using a Lightning connector, CarPlay works with iPhone 5 and newer models running the iOS 7.1 or higher operating systems. The CarPlay roster of supported apps can be found at the following link: http://www.apple.com/ios/carplay/.

HYUNDAI RELEASES DO-IT-YOURSELF INSTALLATION FOR SMARTPHONE INTEGRATIONS ON SEVERAL EXISTING MODELS
Similar to CarPlay, Android Auto helps keep drivers’ eyes and attention on the road by integrating the advanced driving-related functions of the user’s smartphone with the familiar centralized screen, physical controls and microphone of their car. Furthermore, the smartphone’s screen becomes “locked,” so drivers are not tempted to look down and interact with their phones directly, while Android Auto is in use.
Owners will need the Android 5.0 “Lollipop” operating system or later and the Android Auto companion app on their compatible phone to utilize Android Auto. A micro USB cable is required to connect the phone to the car’s USB port. The first time an owner plugs his or her phone into their parked compatible Hyundai, the phone will prompt the download of the Android Auto companion app from the Google Play store. Users of Android Auto will instantly recognize familiar Android phone applications, such as Google Maps, Google Now, messaging, phone calling and Google Play Music. These applications can be controlled by voice, steering wheel controls and touchscreen. Android Auto will also offer many popular third-party audio apps, including iHeartRadio, Spotify, TuneIn, NPR, Stitcher, Slacker, Skype, TextMe and many more.
Eight-Inch Navigation System
Hyundai’s eight-inch navigation system offers an enhanced display and home screen that shows map and music information, regardless of the music source.
Blue Link®

Remote features can be accessed via Hyundai’s smartphone app or Web portal. Blue Link also features maintenance alerts and safety features, such as Automatic Collision Notification and SOS. The Blue Link system uses a 4G connection. The Blue Link Connected Care package includes safety and diagnostic features and is standard for one year on equipped models.
